Have a load of armco to install around buildings this winter (about 600m) its used stuff so the galv wants painting now to smarten it up

with a lot to do i’m thinking a airless sprayer would speed things up, do a better job than a brush and maybe even save expensive paint ? We do a lot of redecorating rental properties as well - would spraying be suitable for and speed that job up ?

any experience of these things ? looking at a Graco gx21 ? worth the price tag ?

also - what’s the right paint to use in this situation ? i’m thinking a synthetic enamel ?

The use in a Rental property tidy up will be debatable if of a standard 3 bed semi size.
with the additional time of masking and sheeting, then of course moving the unit about from room to room. If all in one colour like white it was a breeze. I used to use one years back that you could either use as a sprayer but it also pumped into a roller head on a pole, made light work of big high ceilings.

the rentals are usually a quick lick of white paint everywhere and nothing fancy

Just ordered the same one Tom Lamb has in his video’s, Graco gx21from spraydirect, 10% off all orders if you look on their Facebook page for offer code. The cheaper ones would be as good I think as long as they are piston pumped, but will have a smaller max nozzle size therefore slower on bigger jobs.

I hate any form of painting, got a wagner, no problems with it, their only simple machines anyway, as above masking takes the most time so you want to get quite a bit prepped before the actual painting which only takes minutes, masking may not be so important depending on the job though. Still hate painting though gotta be the most boring job on the planet.

galvanized? you will have to wipe it down with white vinegar or some other acid. prime it then paint. avoid alkyd or oil based paints. plenty of info on the net if you do a search. is it worth the hassle?
