I didn't know you could make cake out of sheep. The vegans won't be happy...

Not much Barley at £115 now. I was offered £125 for non-FA (ex farm) yesterday.;)

Most of the other ingredients in the concentrate will be far dearer of course.
Suppose that’s transport don’t think I’d get much more than 115 if I asked merchants this week. Yes other ingredients will be dearer but do you really need anything more special than barley and a bit of protein and minerals mixed up
Edit sorry only just re read your post says ex farm. Would that of been a local feed mill to you because I don’t think I’d get that

My price was quoted by a merchant that moves it farm to farm, so would be dearer delivered on farm obviously. It was £115 off the combine, at the lowest point, iirc.

Can’t see it going up much most of the country will be planted into spring barley

I can. Most of the country’s Winter Barley is dead or dieing, and certainly won’t yield well whatever happens now. SB will always be behind on yield, even if it dries up enough for them keen fellas to drill in February. If I could afford to forego the income, i’d happily Be looking to sit on a pile of Barley to next winter.

18% £242 Bridgman (MVF) bought 3t about month ago, thought that had to move at some point (down) before i fill the bin .excuse : soya and currency exchange volatility due to brexit , lol ,
using a few 00 gms barley / alka wheat mix on tick overs and small number of finishers along side it , will add a small bit of soya soon @about 150 a tonne

Especially with the situation in ozzy. Can see wheat 2021 price hitting well over £200 it's whether anyone can sit on this harvests crop until summer 21 cashflow wise.

I got 5t of Harbro premium ewe rolls delivered on Friday. Not needing it now but not wanting to be caught out during the festive “holidays”
This sounds bad but I didn’t even ask the price. Tried buying cheaper in the past but backfired as ewes wouldn’t eat it, lost condition and had huge problems and more expense getting them back on track. Now I just buy what I know will do the job I want.
