The BWMB have compiled a register to try and link up shearers with customers, to combat the potential shearer shortage

I've not registered but I'm considering putting my name forward. I just don't want to commit to doing others if it becomes difficult completing my own 'circuit' and home silaging. I hope to be free from late June onwards

after getting fed up 2 years ago of waiting i decided to teach my self off you tubevideos, and got a clipping machine,

last year i made a shearing spring gate and honed the pens a bit,

glad i did as i bet its gonna be a nob end this year!

i do it all my self, gather feed them into pens etc, just do around 30-40 a day, just the morning then i dont get fed up of it. Go in have a shower then have lunch!

ive got around 275 so its not to bad.

I’m self taught too, and managed over 100 in an afternoon/ evening a few years ago. Prefer to do them in the evening, and then hot shower before bed.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
