Looking to buy a bale shear and wondering which is best there’s loads around here but all claim to be best Tanco and keltic the main ones I like the look of the prodig but haven’t seen them in action

I am quite happy with my Tanco, it has done several thousand bales.
It is usually pretty good at hanging on to the net and wrap, with dry haylage it can retain a bit of the bale too that needs chucking in by hand, well made and does the job.

A lot depends on what you are doing with the bale. Tanco drops the cut half and the wrap down so if you're filling a wagon or ring feeder you need more lift height and roof clearance if indoors. Keltec.cuts up through the bale

I just use an old twose shear grab. If it's lush stuff it goes through like a knife in butter but the drier bales will break a tine or bend the blade

I use mine on haylage that is dry enough to be called hay, doesn't seem to worry it.

I cut hay no bother with our Tanco , even straw when I just want to put a part of a bale in the wagon. I put bales straight into wagon but do have a telehandler, used to do it with a loader tractor before that but not when wagon was full as the plastic would get caught on silage already mixing.
Very handy for stacking straw and hay bales too .

That's ok but there's still a bit of net left in that video, probably just the start bit of net, do they all leave this bit?

Depends where the net ends as to wether it leaves a little bit or not. I think all shears would do this. We have gone away from net this year and are using film instead because we hate netwrap so much!

They can all leave a bit of net if it happens that the inner end of the net is in the bit cut off for a start.
In dry haylage they sometimes leave a bit of haylage in the gripper thing along with the net and wrap.
I have a Keltic, strong heavy machine. if you have heavy Bales with NRF (no net all plastic) the plastic sometimes will tear out of the clamp and you can loose half of the bale and the plastic which invariably will be under the silage. You will always have bits of plastic wrap that is not attached to the wrap in the clamp. It’s still better than a Stanley knife and getting in and out of the cab for each bale but it’s not perfect. It will retain silage with the wrap. As regards cutting half of the bale, I find it’s more like 30/70 and to get the 30% out you sometimes loose the whole lot in a heap with plastic underneath. Still would not be without it. Oh watch the roof or overhang as you will easily do damage and make sure it’s properly connected to the loader because if it comes off it’s a PIA to sort out if it falls over. Just my experience over the past 10 years.
