I spoke to Cecillia a year or so ago regards red tractor and the import using non assured grain, she was adamant that without red tractor we would be severely disadvantaged blah blah blah,

yet they are happy to import gm maize and soya? Round up ready all mixed into a boat and undercut our market, same with oil seed rape from Ukraine and then she has the cheek to say if the government know exactly what will produce and then they may have confidence in our food security…….what a joke

Did she say why we would be disadvantaged without Red Tractor?

I get the impression Openfield don't want anything else but a single assurance standard, just so it makes their lives easier and they don't need to segregate grain. Someone from Openfield please come on here and let us know your thoughts.

I didn't think openfield imported anything though, that was given as a reason for the Warburton contract being lost anyway. Warburton's wanted one company to do the whole job.
Wonder if they're happy with it?

I don’t underestimate her, she’s just incredibly anti farmer imo. Which seems odd given that Openfield is farmer owned (or have I got that wrong?) either way I’m not dealing with them while she writes crap each month in FG saying how I’m doing everything wrong and I need to change to make her life/her companies life better. I’ve got some advice for her/Openfield but I’m not sure she’d like it….

A lot of it is the tone of her articles.
It does put me right off.
I tend not to read them now as it doesn't do my blood pressure any good.

Everything who is supporting UK farmers getting undermined in their own marketplace whereas imports have unfettered access is no friend of farmers and you should have zero trust of them.

Why should we not win that argument that is one thing the general public care so much about environment! Exporting our damage is one thing we need to play on the publics conscience! And push their own self righteous back at them.
or let us produce it cheap using every tool in the box available elsewhere, let them decide

Often thought that grain traders/merchants would benefit from rules to stop farmers over yearing grain. Its a pratice they do themselves so a ban would be pushing their luck. Grain buying contracts often stipulate new crop.
