Covid and trailers?

If the population density is so low why is there so much fly tipping? are they all tipping their rubbish in the hedge backs?

Fines make a difference if they are severe enough, although some community responsibility would help too.
Stewart, this country has changed a vast amount since you left. The police have virtually given up policing thank much to pc policies and financial cut backs. They love domestic crime as Mrs B claims Mr B gave her a black eye. A simple open and shut case. Speeding yes , we do that, the number plate is a dead give away.
Fly tipping, did anyone get video footage, No , sorry mate , no evidence , move on. Been burgled, video footage, No, move on. Your house burnt down, no video footage, move on.
Our police are becoming wosrse than a joke.
Mind you with some of our government, that is probably a blessing!

They are juggling a fine line though - stop fly tipping but don’t let commercial waste get dumped on the householders’ dime. I think a limit on trucks and trailer size is as good a way as any. What would you do? Have it down to discretion of the individual workers and end up with bribery/ fights, or what?

I don't know, can't be that hard though. Some one has obviously been paid a lot to come up with the current system that doesn't work.
Its staggeringly obvious that a man with a fridge in his little trailer should be allowed to dump it and not have to tie it to the roof of his car.

We have 3 different bins, about to be 4, any recycling over and above that can be taken to the recycling centre/dump and placed in the right skip. You can also drop off fridges, cookers etc free of charge.
Any rubbish including garden waste (that won't fit in your green bin) goes over the weighbridge and you bust out your wallet.

I noticed a big change last time we were over, the fly tipping is frustrating as there is some outstanding countryside in the UK being ruined by litter and rubbish.
