I’d say my conception rate was 60% but my preg rate 54% as it takes heat detection into account?

Pregnancy rate is calculated as the number of cows successfully impregnated out of the number of eligible cows in a 21 day period.

Anything over 20% preg rate on high yielding AYR herds is good, 25% is extremely good and 30% is very hard to achieve without synching a lot of cows. I can't comment on block calving herds but obviously they have better fertility.

Technically a block calving herd on straight comparison wouldn't be much higher because before you start serving you have cows the are post 42 days calves so legible for service but you don't so you actually have a preg rate of 0 for a couple of weeks

Takes a bit getting your head around that something at 30% is a good result.

We don’t have one. I’ve had a cow hold 17 days calved before here but obviously they’re few and far between.
It's a date on the calendar. VWP doesn't come into it.
We don't. We start serving at day 84 and serve anything bulling. Served our last heifer to calve at 21 days on day 1 of service, just served her again! Bugger
50% preg rate is unheard off isnt it?
This preg rate for ayr is confusing.
I've told @Rossymons that I want 65%+ to hold to 1st service. If not

It does. I was explaining it to my Grandad last year - he felt keeping the extra 2 zeros on the end made it sound more an achievement! 3000% preg rate? Yes please!

92% submission 69% non return rate at the end of week 4 so on target for somewhere in that ball park, don’t think it’s anything exceptional myself.
Achieving it AYR is though which is where I thought you were coming from.
