Debt recovery

Hi all, new here active forum reader, Ive a question regarding a company which is avoiding paying a bill they were issued with and have been actively chased. What would be the best solution to kick them into paying up you have found, as law firms get very quick to issue a winding up petition which gets fast in a hurry but looks like the only way to solve the issue.

Several agricultural dealers and tractor hirers and others around this way have had great success using Thomas Higgins

They have taken many 'customers' to Court on behalf of clients and won every case that I know of and recovered all money plus costs.

Having been on the receiving end of Thomas Higgins i would defo give them a go with their bombard of letters and phone calls daily..Though my case was bit of an odd one where i was eventually taken to a small claims court did a counter claim and the other party back tracked and paid me an out of court settlement very odd!!:scratchhead::p

Trouble with all the foregoing is that if he hasn't got assets or ready money , no amount of chasing will get you anything , and you'll also have thrown good money after bad . Many people / companies lease everything , and own nothing , so what looks like a prosperous sound company can be very misleading . ( first hand experience there ) I've come to the conclusion that unless it's for a very significant figure , you're better off putting it down to experience , and getting on with earning your living today .

Just got rid of a tenant, managed to get him to sign a tenancy surrender form. He had a few free months of rent free but as said above, he owed fu#k all, worthless van, crappy furniture etc. would of been a waste of time dragging him through the courts. I basically told him he would never rent anywhere again as all the debt goes against your name.
Had some good advice off

How long do you wait before getting a collector involved? Been owed £4,500 for well over a month passed agreed invoice date, chap says every day he is going to pay. Final straw was yesterday when chap said he had paid half but nothing arrived.

Have you been around to see him face to face? Fact is, there are folk who are literally hand to mouth and still carrying on regardless..
