Yeah it works a treat, way better than the Case system except; it needs a few more tweaks as it drops out occasionally, at first it was looking at 16 satellites and dropped out all the time, now its looking at 9ish and drops out occasionally. RTK farming are speaking to Deutz about it to work out the right balance.

Would you go ploughing with a flipping boom on the front! I hate loaders with a vengeance when you’re trying to do anything rather than use them to lift something!! Having one hanging off the front with a plough woukd be a massive PITA!!

Why? It hardly overhangs more than those weights in the picture. It certainly makes no difference to me as a driver whether the boom is attached or not. I just think that the boom adds around the same or a bit more weight to the front than those weights, with the option of hanging a bucket or grab to the front for even more.

Mechanical sympathy to what? It would just sit there on the tractor, probably with its own suspension system. Its not like you were shifting bales or using a shear-grab with it, or forcing a bucket into a dense pile.

No but those weights take a lot more effort to take on and off. They don't stay there when the loader boom is re-attached, otherwise the claim to mechanical sympathy would be very exaggerated.

Fair point if the weights have to be put on and off by hand and can't just stay there.

we keep loader on with bucket or stone fork for lifting stones when ploughing

Have you run out of scabs to pick again?

Is your back sympathetically OK from substituting one already attached weight that is quickly and effortlessly removed for a whole lot of heavy castings, probably manually and individually attached and needing removed again before re-attaching the loader boom mass? Or are you just a masochist?

Did you fit the work lights on the indicator stalks yourself ?.

Thinking of doing the same on our 6160.4 because there's a blind spot down the side of the loader when stacking silage bales.
