Direct drilling osr into chopped straw horsch avatar

Hi,
I am trying to direct drill osr into chopped wheat stubble, but there is so much hair pinning, I am very doubtful establishment will be successful. I've tried deeper and shallower, more and less pressure, but no success. Anyone with any recommendations?
Thanks

Hairpinning always an issue with a disc drill whatever you do in those conditions. drill may work with row cleaners (never tried them) but very expensive. Use a tine drill with plenty of clearance. Horsch CO / Sprinter with narrow points is ideal

As above. Unless you're prepared to grind a razor sharp edge on each disc, row cleaners are the only way with a disc. I don't think row cleaners are available for the 16.7cm counters yet. What model is it?

A tine drill is best to sweep the chopped straw out of the way.

Try a much longer stubble next time so there is less chopped straw. Or bale it.
