Hi folks I find myself now locking horns with Isuzu uk about the poor performance of my new Dmax pick up . I’m looking for other people’s experience of reporting and getting resolutions to this annoying misfire. I’m looking for detailed info regarding worship visits and explanations to the problem your having. Should you wish to send me your story privately go to my new web page mybrokenIsuzu.co.uk
and click on the email link . Telling me your experience on this thread should you not wish to email would be extremely helpful

What happens when you google the issue - is it widespread? Does your dealer care? - when we ran Troopers - and they had their fair share of engine issues - the dealer supported us with the customer side of International Motors. Have there been any recalls?

Hi I’ve been in contact with some people who have the same issues. I have bin email contact with Isuzu uk who’s explanation is not what could be called satisfactory. I’ve now been directed back to the selling dealers for further diagnostic

About as much good as your complaint to Isuzu maybe?
Yeh it’s a characteristic of the under developed product that I have at the moment. Although my web builder is in the process of putting together the content of that site . Hopefully I can maybe get the characteristics of under developed engine sorted aswel . Unfortunately my web builder only does websites

Maybe the most important question is is the vehicle fit for purpose? If not thenit should be returned!
Yes that’s the intention but the reply given from the importer/supplier is that it’s a characteristic of the engine . So it’s going to be a battle with them .

If its not fit for purpose then take it back under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
"Repair or replace
If you are outside the 30-day right to reject, you have to give the retailer one opportunity to repair or replace any goods or digital content which are of unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described.

You can state your preference, but the retailer can normally choose whichever would be cheapest or easier for it to do.

If the attempt at a repair or replacement is unsuccessful, you can then claim a refund or a price reduction if you wish to keep the product.

You're entitled to a full or partial refund instead of a repair or replacement if any of the following are true:

  • the cost of the repair or replacement is disproportionate to the value of the goods or digital content
  • a repair or replacement is impossible
  • a repair or replacement would cause you significant inconvenience
  • the repair would take an unreasonably long amount of time.
If a repair or replacement is not possible, or the attempt at repair fails, or the first replacement also turns out to be defective, you have a further right to receive a refund of up to 100% of the price you paid, or to reject the goods for a full refund."

Maybe furnishing folk with more info such as how long you`ve had it, mileage, when the issue started may encourage more responses?

Thanks for that it’s five weeks old has misfire from first week and steadily got worse . It’s had a repair attempt and many different verbal explanations . One written explanation yesterday suggests that importers are aware of a powerband disruption that is a characteristic

At 5 weeks old with their one repair attempt the law is on your side. Put everything in writing. In my world that would be going back and I would be sat in their showroom until it was resolved with either another vehicle or a refund.
