Pulled a single leg Browns mole plough out of the nettles this afternoon, last used 35+ years ago I should think.
I have about an acre of blue clay at the bottom of a field to mole into a ditch, so don’t want to spend on anything like a new expander. Buying a 3/4” pin for the leg was bad enough!

My only tractor is a JD6920. Will she be boss enough for it, or should I go and see if I can borrow 250hp from next door?

I’d be pretty sure I could pull that with my 4055 (115hp). I think I’d try and stretch to an expander as well, if your going to do a job you may as well do it something like right!

You'll pull it like that no problem without an expander.
It's the expander that takes the pulling - this is definitely a case of where size does matter (no matter what Mrs Neilo tells you to make you feel better:bag::bag:)

I'd suggest you ought to have an expander of some sort on there, but don't go crazy or you'll not be able to keep it at a constant depth.

The last time we moled with a Lely mole plough , it was on a TVO Fergy 35, pulled by 2 fergy 20`s, a sit up and beg Major and on the front a Cat D2 bulldozer.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
