Got this summer catch crop of radish, mustard and black oats that is motoring along. But do the oats actually do much, shaded out in the bottom of the crop?

What were the seed proportions? Oats work very well for me. A common mix being 50kg oats, 50kg beans, 2.5kg mustard and 4kg radish. (Direct drilled Pre potatoes)
Hot Mustard huh?
What you goingbto do with it ,Ha ha! What is that? I didn't order the stuff.
What you goingbto do with it ,
Bio mustard needs flailing off at 60/75% flowering and incorparating well , for the gasses to work
Done same ,but straight oil raddish , and one field has stubble tirnips will be spring ploughed and pressed and drill straight into it ,and going to try opposite of what you doing , plough it next week ,put subsoiler through it ,and sow some oats and raddish with rape seeder on back at 45 cm rows ,then drill beet between rows of cover , with mulch drill after spraying off in feb ,I don't think it's being used as a biofumigant specifically. This field will be drilled with wheat next month. Most of the cover crops will be flailed off and ploughed pre-christmas before sugar beet, some will have to be left a bit longer to qualify for BPS greening.
Really the aim was to utilise autumn spread chicken muck, and hopefully leave the soil in a bit nicer condition to improve beet establishment.

Do you want some drilling with mulch drillAfter this spring I was keen to try and come up with a way of strip tilling some beet. But given the damage virus yellows have done this year, I'm not sure we're confident enough in the future of the crop to invest in any machinery for it?!

Black oats are a complete waste of money when most of us have normal oats in the shed
Apparently so but enormous premium, I’ve grown them and didn’t think they were worth it especially as part of a mixAren't there some claims about better root mass and it being more beneficial in a rotation with normal oats?
Is this going into maize also James?Sown cover is forage rape, radish and vetch. May keep the volunteer oats in
