Not my scene I am afraid. Is sexual orientation also of importance when applying to said organisation? You have never applied for a job with MI5 then

That and your membership of the communist party are things that you must never disclose at a job interviewNot my scene I am afraid. Is sexual orientation also of importance when applying to said organisation?
It obviously doesn’t apply to all jobs but senior government jobs and military promotion ,in some sectors, rely on private education as a screening tool. I know this from experience.I don`t ever remember being asked which school I went to when applying for a job, simply qualifications and experience.
I find that disgusting. It obviously doesn’t apply to all jobs but senior government jobs and military promotion ,in some sectors, rely on private education as a screening tool. I know this from experience.

I forget the bloke's name (BoJo adviser that Princess But Nuts forced out), from a very ordinary background. Dealing with senior civil servants and they were trying to be smart, speaking Latin, and commenting on his accent. I like listening to R4 but it's still a real event when someone with a regional accent comes on there.
I think you might mean Lee Cain who was the director of communications he went to Ormskirk Grammar.I find that disgusting.

From the Grammar School I went to in my year we had kids who went on to be a Colonel in the Royal Engineers another was a Group Captain in the RAF and another was an Air Vice Marshall who commanded a fighter station. I don’t think it was because of the school it would be because of their ability and a lad in the year above ended up as CEO of Asda.I think someone’s ability is more of a concern than their school history when it comes to the military.
It certainly should be in all walks of life. The same goes for race , colour or gender. The best suited applicant gets the job.I think someone’s ability is more of a concern than their school history when it comes to the military.

That was nearly 90 years ago! When my late father went to university in the late 30's a working knowledge of Latin was still a compulsory entrance requirement.
Was that within the last ten years?Where my children went ( in England) it was full boarding with only about two day pupils who were teachers children. There was one long weekend per term when all kids left the school but otherwise everyone had to stay in school.
My children did Latin in school here . It's available as an option to all students. When my late father went to university in the late 30's a working knowledge of Latin was still a compulsory entrance requirement.
I had to learn Latin at school in the 1970's and it was a comprehensive school. About the only thing I remember about it is this poem that did the rounds
Latin is a language as dead as dead can be
First it killed the ancient Britons
Now it's killing me
Yes they left in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Was that within the last ten years?
My two both did Latin to O level but my year at school was the last to study Latin. I don't think it has been a lot of use in my life though. I am unlikely to ever meet any Roman soldiers on the farm even though my Landlord is Italian he claims not to understand me....maybe it's my accent. My children did Latin in school here . Big fleas have little fleas
upon their backs to the them
And little fleas have littler fleas
and so ad infnitum.
Latin has always been seen as a strong basis for people wishing to study languages and still handy in Medicine. And of course, to be a Whitehall civil servant.Yes they left in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
