I use to work with one of the lads.

its not my company. I was just recommending a friend I use to work with
So you've signed up to a forum with a username identical to the name of a limited company within which you have no role, and with which you have no connection (other than knowing someone who works there)?

@bitwrx finds this even more odd than referring to oneself in the third person.

And spammed a whole series of replies where a single message would have sufficed :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Yeah. When I filled the form in I thought that was the trade name of the company, not my personal name. I went back to change to my personal name but can't find the way to change it. It really isn't some sort of scam, my friend I use to work with has set up a company doing electrical connections, when I find how to change my name I will. Thanks

How much to do a simple single phase connection in Pembrokeshire?
It’s not my company. It’s a friends,I was just trying to help out because I know how much the electricity companies charge. And they only just set up business. I have tried to change the main name to put my personal one on but waiting on admin.

Might need a few houses on the site to pay for it!!

Bloody hell hope you were sitting down when that came.. Looks like the problem is you are 700 m away from the supply. That cable they are quoting seems to be about £50 / metre. so over 1/3 of the cost just for that cable

Thanks that is an option. Definitely will not be going down the mains connection route. This was for 3 phase, single phase would be cheaper, but I cannot imagine it will be significantly cheaper!
I might explore these people a bit more https://www.energy-solutions.co.uk/farming
The biggest part of the cost will be the distance of HV line which is most unlikely to be reduced much by going single phase.

150mm for 50 kva sounds big overkill on the hv side, or they want you to extend their network. For comparison I have 120mm running 500m on the lv spur to my turbine (80kW), a lot less would be needed if it was hv. Compare with the glorified t&e they connected from meter to transformer (on extreme right, 120mm to turbine on left), still at lv.

Electric board regs are totally diffent regs. We put in 95mm they use 50mm or less.

Hi,
I’ve been made aware of some interest regarding Serconnect Ltd on this website. I’ll give a brief overview of us and what we do.
* ICP (Independent Connections Provider) throughout the UK with Overhead Line scopes
* Provide a range of services (both underground + overhead) including, but not limited to New Connections, Add-Load (Upgrades), Diversion, Disconnections. These are all at LV to 11kV
* All staff are in-house and were previously Electricity Board trained with over 100 years combined experience consisting of Engineers, Overhead Linesmen and Cable Jointers
Our authorisations on the Electricity North West network means we can complete your job from start to finish (contestable and non contestable) in the ENW area, in other areas we can compete for the contestable element of a job.

There may be some jobs where we cannot compete with the regional electricity operator due to standard cost, however, feel free to enquire on the website and we will assist where possible!

Thanks
Lee

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
