Or the 50% increase in cars on the road, and we all know how good hedgehogs are at getting run over!
Plus it’s been illegal since then to remove hedges and farmers have actually planted about 2000km of hedge a year since then

Many years ago, the Natural History programme on Radio 4 opened with a recording of a Badger eating a Hedgehog, I can't imagine that recording still exists.

Hs2 survey was very surprised how many hedgehogs we have on our farm.
Told them, we don't have badgers....
