Fendt 718 remap

I am getting a 2016 718 remapped and was wondering what people have theirs running at? The 718 seems to share the same spec as the higher models in the range, does anyone know if it can be safely taken up to say 220hp? Or is there a torque figure I could aim for.

The tractor has 1000E pto so would like to be able to use it for long slurry pumping (up to a mile) and just have a bit more power for a mix of general trailer/tanker duties

Has anyone on here done one before? If so share your experiences good/bad

Cheers

Be interesting to see how you get on my remapping man says he can’t do them because there’s some torque sensor that senses too much power and derates it!

718 is not the same as the rest , 180hp at the shaft would be all I would go to on it

We have a 718 2010 model from new.....thought about in the early days remapping it...tbh...glad I didn't......my little input would be don't go too high....personally I'm a bit anti remap....its more than the engine you put under extra pressure....im not convinced it's the same as higher hp models in the range.

If it's for pto work only and not haulage. 220 will be fine. 200 be plenty for haulage. Engine will be fine either way, would just worry about transmission

I was told varios went more in 716/718/818s that we’re tweaked. My 818 was 203 at the shaft.

That said I was also told 716s that we’re fooled with tyre ratios to get more than the 53/55km were also prone to premature failures.

I’d be interested in hearing other opinions and experiences.

It’s pretty much just used for mixed duties, doesn’t do a huge amount of hauling but will at times. The ability to pump slurry 1800 metres using 1000e would be a huge fuel saving though and pay for the cost of the remap. Current tractor is burning 35L/hr when we be at this craic

35L/hr is around 180hp at the engine. Not a light load by any means. Can’t see the fuel burn dropping substantially using 1000e

Is that with 5” pipe? I know several different colours of tractor that have shite there arse end pumping slurry on 1000E,something to do with the 1000E shaft not being able to take the torque compared to 1000.

Surely tractor won’t be cooling as well on economy shaft either, I’d rather have her reving harder and under less pressure

Good to know, a few contractors near to me have said they pump all the time in 1000E but I guess they are probably on much shorter pumps than me. I’ll keep her in 1000 for the long pumps and trial eco for the shorter ones to see how she goes

Re engine pump, I am all set up and things are working very well so no plans to change in near future. Yes that’s 5” pipe for the first 1300m and then 4” the rest

I’m pretty sure that the 718 has the same transmission as the 720? I had a 720 at 248 did 5500hrs no problem and a 718 s4 at 218 no problem did 4500 transmission failure on fendts is down to operator error by not using low box when it should be used

I think mine is an S4, she’s 2016 if that means anything? What’s the craic with the power limiter on them, have heard it can de-rate them if it senses the power has been turned up?!

Engine pump will save you a fortune on fuel and man hours if your doing a lot of pumping.
Are you spreading or transfer between pits?

Ah we only pump about 4 million gallon in a year, engine pumps do look great but it won’t save me any labour as I need a man with me for unforeseen problems and the fuel saving wouldn’t justify it alone
