Fendt sharing field boundary/AB lines etc

Can you share field boundaries and AB lines between Gen 5 Fendt tractors? And if you can, do both tractors need the same brand of receiver or can it still be done if one is on Novatel and the other is on Trimble?

i have done it between s4 and gen 6 both novatel receivers.

Fairly sure i did it between topcon and novatel on s4 but it was a few years ago so not certain

Maybe different, but I did USB stick transfer between a gen 6 and gen 7 tractor, was instant and easy, once downloaded on the 7, it was like I was still in the 6, everything was transferred, field's, AB lines, boundaries, implements' and all on a tiny USB, was expecting to have to get a large stick

Just to follow on.. I've just bought a used 724 privately off farm, it's got a Topcon receiver on RTK and I think it's connected to a base station somewhere in Yorkshire through Peacock & Binnington, the seller tells me he pays them a subscription for the service. I'm bringing the tractor back to N.Ireland, can anyone tell me how I can keep using RTK, will I need to find someone here with a base station or is there an easier way to do it?

Here's a screenshot of the nav settings.

I'm no expert but isn't that mobile RTK, with a sim, so NTRIP, which doesn't that mean you can use any company offering that, and possibly stick with the same company

That's what I don't know. The guy selling the tractor wasn't really able to elaborate on how it gets a signal, I just thought when it said distance to base 23km that meant it must be connected to an actual base station, and the P&B website shows they run 10 base stations themselves up and down the country.

But if it's Ntrip then that should be handy enough.

I think they still need a base as a reference, so distance will be to one that they are linked to I guess, but someone will know more than me, I do think you've got Ntrip though

Whereabouts in NI? A few on here have set up bases you might be able to connect to, including self. No subscription apart from the data sim. £3-400 for the bits and relatively easy to set one up if you follow the guide on here

I’m fairly sure that’s ntrip. Should just need a sim card that will work in your area and the log ins to the service you want. Alternatively you should be able to change it to terrastar. You may need to talk to a dealer to do that

I'm just outside Eglinton. I know of a base in Omagh which we have used for our FieldBee RTK on another tractor, seems to work alright despite being the guts of 40 miles away.

Probably farm theory... but he switches his off, probably why I could never get connected to it... For all it takes its worth doing your own

This Topcon AGI-4 on a Fendt can do both radio RTK and NTRIP.

There is a compatibility detail with this Fendt branded AGI-4, that is it needs legacy format RTCM messages. Most modern base stations send MSM messages that this Fendt does not accept. Some base stations send both. If no compatible free base not available within a decent distance, you can always set up a private base at a very little cost.

Another slight tangent - I have a Husqvarna RTK base station for my robot lawn mower, any idea if it could be used for the 724 and FieldBee in my tractors?

You'd need to know what messages it sent out, and also it's likely to be radio based. If so, not going to be much use to the tractors. If it has a SIM card or sends to a caster over WiFi, you might get lucky
