As above. Gentle weaving from side to side will also help the lifter raise the crop.
A little weaving works a treat sometimes if flat In lines down the field I cut in lands so I get to go with the flat strips going in head first. Anything to make it easier the better on the combine and me .

Didn't know I could do this. How do we do on a lesion vario?

can't recall off the top of my head but pretty sure we have in past seasons - should be in the operators book though

Other header setting that can make a big difference is rear shear bar clearance and the auger to table clearance heights

Set the reel height to lift the laid and cutter just above be stone level on auto 2 set auto 1 for standing
Only need to slow down because of the extra foot of straw through the system
In ripe easy thrashing no need to slow down
Yellow. Tx62 17 ft tf78 24 ft and now cr 35 ft

If any ones wheat is not falling over in places this year then the weather has not been bad or it is under done

Anyone got any tips combining barley flat to the floor. Lifters on a lexion either ride over the top or bulldoze
Reel just hasn’t got the power to drag the stalks up over the lifters
As soon as the sun goes down the job is buggered
4t crop but no use till its in the shed
Sometimes using every other lifter and can work better than using them all.
There is something wrong with your reel dive if it hasn’t got enough power to drag the crop over the lifters.

Some prefer not to use lifters at all and lift it over the knife with the reel.
Others like to slip and cut it all in one direction.
Some like to cut it at 90 degrees to the way it is laying.

Usually cuts better across the lay; starting at the side of the field towards which the crop is leaning, that way the crop side divider is not trying to pull an extra 2 ft of crop over itself into the header.

We tilted header faceplate to no 3 on NH CR combines for laid barley and no lifters , made big difference, just had to take care dips in field as it makes a good dozer blade , back to between 4/5 now .
Not moving at the moment after 31mm on Thursday night and regular top ups since

And all that money spent on growth regulators and straw stiffners?
In my experience pgr, is used to allow more fert to be put on, you're just pushing the point that the crop may go down farther along the yield gain, ie, no pgr, 3ton with 125 units nitrogen may go flat, or a 3 spray pgr, 220 units n and expected yield of 4.5 ton may go flat.
