Fodder beet as Im running out of turnips

Currently going throught turnips like mad and getting worried Im bot going to have enough to finish all the lambs , thinking of buying in fodder beet off a neighbour and spreading it on the fields with a rear discharge ,
should they do as well on fodder beet as turnips and around how many kgs a head will they eat a day anyone have any Idea or ever done this thanks in advance

We do this and works very well. Better off starting soon before you run out of turnips as it’s a more balanced diet. Turnips being higher in protein, the beet on its own wouldn’t fatten lambs. Not sure how much per head they’d eat to be honest, just keep spreading it on 👍

Can you pull the small lambs out if fit and send them on lightweight job to ease pressure?

mor house big un’s onto feed to ease pressure?

Years ago, I used to buy in c quota sugar beet to feed with stubble turnips. Together, they make a cracking, well balanced ration.
However, beet is in no way a replacement for the turnips, just an ideal supplement.

As above, crack on with it now if you're going to, rather than running out of turnips first.
 
Thanks for all the feedback will get some turnips out this nxt week hopefully , anyone have any idea around how much they will eat a day kgs wise average ? cheers

As above, crack on with it now if you're going to, rather than running out of turnips first.
Getting them out now is an impossibility, I would rather wait till east winds take hold in March and not leave wheelmarks
