you've only got to see the Arla advert currently on TV which tells you all cows are 'free range' 😉
and therefore all milk is free range!

Don't shatter the public perception just yet, things are fragile enough.
just keep the message simple

See your point but can we really expect 'the public' to care about farming and food if what they are being marketed and what they are being sold is totally different, why would you bother to think about what you are buying? One thing to make it look the farms look modern and tidy, another to sell a completely different product than what is marketed. A bit like the difference between Coca-Cola marketing their product as healthy vs just declining to mention it is full of sugar, one is misleading the other is marketing.

Don't Morrisons (could be Waitrose?) push something about "their" cows being out at grass a certain number of days?

Regenerative/sustainable/organic/free range are all probably interchangeable in the eye of the average shopper.

it's the overall image of the industry that is good.

Without all these cows out grazing grass, through the spring, summer and autumn, the AYR housed herds on liquid contracts would have a hard sell on their hands! 😉
The marketing guys know that full well.

Arla milk for Morrisons is all ‘Arla 360’ which does not have a requirement to graze unless it’s the ‘Milk for Farmers ‘ range where grazing is required . The Arla 360 pool has recently been expanded for use in Arla branded products made in the UK and this is known as Arla care milk and has a grazing requirement. This must be going well as they are looking for extra milk for this pool.
