Gamic trailer

If weight is the limit, not space, why the need for a 14’ and three axles? Granted it can filled to capacity around the farm, but I find I can move sheep just as quick with my dog ( and stick) by the time I load, unload and clean the trailer after.

That depends on the layout of the farm I suppose. Having run both for plenty of years, I’ve always found triaxles with wheels on the outside to tow by far the best. The extra 2’ is surely a no-brainier for the extra cost, spread over the life of the trailer?
You don’t have to cram them in.;)

Looks like the bees knees for a sheep trailer, but I'm thinking more than two fat cows and we could be over the weight limit. Might have to dream about something else!

Tbf, that’s the case with any 14’ trailer taken on the road, especially behind any vehicles with lower towing limits.

You're right, I've just had a look at the 14' Ifor and that would be right on the limit with 3 cows and the full 3.5t pulling it. At least with the 12' there's a bit of leeway

That depends what you go for?
A 14ft Tri axle wheels at side with decks only weighs 15kg more than a 12ft Tri axle wheels underneath or only 5kg more if you don't get them with decks
A 14ft twin axle wheels at side with decks weighs the same as a 12ft twin axle wheels underneath or 10kg less if you don't get them with decks

That’ll be the ‘wheels underneath’ model I suspect, which is obviously a bit heavier.👍
Could be, bit misleading as the picture is of a wheels at side trailer and no mention of another design. Ifor and Graham Edwards show pictures of wheels at side and give to prices for such and mention the other models they do.https://www.fwi.co.uk/machinery/trailers/buyers-guide-4x4-towed-livestock-trailers-7-options

The alternative option, and internal dimensions, are detailed in the article. Hardly unusual for FW not to offer too much detail anyway though, especially in what is a quick ‘guide’ on options.
