Groundswell 2019

We are thinking we may have an extra day on the 25th focussing on food...we have had so much interest in Groundswell from non-farming people and everyone eats food, so we are trying to work out how we can engage the foodies with a bit of myth-busting about glyphosate and ploughing, cows and climate and that kind of thing.
Any suggestions welcome...

Anne Biklé - she has a lot of knowledge about gut microbiome and how that is influenced and what that influences, I`m sure

Tim Spector - he could probably tell a bit about myth-busting around food and diets

How about this guy. His name is Jono Frew he is a kiwi who does a lot with regenerative ag over there and has worked with some well known farmers. Similar climate to here so a lot of what he knows should be quite relevant. This is his FB page.

fb://page/2552242461669174

He also runs a FB group called quorum sense which is well worth joining if you aren't already a member. I don't know how to do links to groups
Edit: or links to pages it seems :banghead: it's called natural performance ltd it should be searchable. He posts quite a bit of the stuff off this page on the regenerative agriculture groups and off his personal page too. Of anyone else knows who I'm on about and how to do links then please do (y)

Thanks for the heads up, slight cock-up in the IT dept...tickets not on sale yet, Thursday 28th they will be.

We will be offering some tickets very cheap, or even free, to the deserving poor. But they will have to earn them in some way, yet to be decided

Is there a strict limit to tickets like Glastonbury or could you buy one on the gate or a day or two before?

I’d love to attend however it’s mid silage time for us so depends on weather and it’s a relatively long journey for us.

@hendrebc ,organise a minibus, did this for LAMMA a few years back and shared the cost, driver took us there and back,no hassle?

Could pick up from North Wales and Shropshire.

That could easily be arranged if there was enough people who wanted to go. Might be an expensive minibus ride if it wasn't full though (n)

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
