Heptavac P

It's a bu66er, but they can do as they like (and charge what they like) as they're the only manufacturer that does a vaccine that covers (some strains of) pasturella.

We need somebody else to start making something to compete with them.

Probably as much chance of that as using unicorn tears to do the same job
Yup, absolutely. Some competition would help enormously 👍

Competition will never happen... this is multinational pharmaceutical global monopolies. It's a cut throat industry and every company is at it keeping their products tight under their control.
Just look at almost every Elanco product.

When did Heptavac change from Intervet to MSD? (I'm presuming it was yet another take over / amalgamation of pharma's?)

Most Norbrook products out of stock apparently, talking to local merchants who hadn’t had any Calciject in for a long time and they had dairy farms waiting for pallet loads each

Talking to my boss today, we're very tempted to stop vaccinating and see what happens. Been tempted to risk it for a while but price and availability really forcing the issue.
Tried it once.
Picked up a few really smart 35/36 kg springers that looked perfect, but were just not breathing 😒

Like you say though, price and availability does make you wonder🤔

Thanks for the replies, looks like it'll be late June before supplies are available, seems Noromectin is also hard to come by, not sure what's going on.
Had a chat with the guys from MSD at Scotsheep today. I wouldn’t be relying on June at all.
I've been told mid-June by one merchant and Mid-July by another. Good stock of Ovivac at one place, three small bottles left at my usual stockist.

But do we go for Covexin or Bravoxin or just go the whole hogg and stop completely?

Bravoxin10. Don't drop vaccinating the ewes - you'll lose a lot of good lambs at the 10day old stage (been there got that t-shirt)

It's 1ml per jag - first, 2nd and annual boosters. And it covers more Clostridial diseases than any other product.

Covexin8 is a 5ml initial Jag with a 2ml 2nd Jag and then 2ml annual boosters.
