Thanks for that will defo check them bits out and yes would prefer 4x4 for on the moor cheersGood bike, fuel injection with a good crisp throttle response.
Fuel filters can get clogged and they were quite expensive.
Check it doesn't smoke and the wheels don't wobble about on worn bearings and bushes.
Beware that there are quite a lot of 2wd ones out there if you're needing a 4x4.
Identified by lack of 4x4 lever on the left hand side of the fuel tank.
Oh I didn't know that but cheers for the heads upGo for the current shape, roughly 2015 and newer. Back axle is a stronger set-up. Think the front suspension has bigger joints as well
Previous use and service history probably has more relevance than mileage.Oh I didn't know that but cheers for the heads up
What milage would you say look for
Iv seen 1 but it has 10,000 kilometers on it I think that seems high
Depends how much you are going to use it and how often it has been serviced. Oil change interval isn't very long and a lot just get it once a year ready for lambing!Oh I didn't know that but cheers for the heads up

Probably just winter time when the rabbiting season starts just a weekend thingDepends how much you are going to use it and how often it has been serviced. Oil change interval isn't very long and a lot just get it once a year ready for lambing!
A few km on that one then cheersDealer told me most quads average 10 km per hour through their life. Over that and its had a harder time. Our 500 had done 56000 and was burning oil but went fine, could have been refurbed but some idiot rolled it gathering the hill. Possibly me. Just had a look at our 420 and it's done 1829 hrs and 22500 km ,part of the farm where I live is 1.5 miles from the rest and I go back and forth a couple of times a day at road speeds. One set of front brake pads from new and a cv boot ripped on some barb. Happy with that
Definitely not. Major design flaw in the rear axle, I’ve used both, the later model is far superior. If you can @Pike25lb get one with power steering.I like the 07-13 version they are smaller and more nimble. 14-current I think you are just as well off buying a "larger" 500/520.

You’ll use a lot more fuel than needed tho for what the OP is after, I think 420 is plenty adequate. It's true tue rear axle on them isn't the best, if maintained they are still quite reliable, the 300 which I think has attained legendary status at this point did use the same style rear end.
With that said, IF your concerned with the rear axle on the earlier 420's, my suggestion would be to just skip over the current generation 420 and move right up to the Foreman or Rubicon. The lack of front diff lock for me is one of the biggest reasons to go for the larger models.
Can’t be that bad if you’ve just bought another420’s are shyte I’ve had 4 or 5 of them up to now they will be known as the bike when Honda went downhill for quads. I have a Suzuki it’s a much better bike all together. I just bought another 420 in April only because it was cheaper not because I like it
It’s 9k for a Suzuki 8.5k for a 420 I’m running four bikes if I see one at the right money I buy itCan’t be that bad if you’ve just bought another
To be fair my brother in law has a Suzuki and is always on at me to ditch the Honda, comfort being the differenceIt’s 9k for a Suzuki 8.5k for a 420 I’m running four bikes if I see one at the right money I buy it
They are a superior bike but I have 2 lads and the mrs all rough with gear I’m no better so a second class ride is better than a first class walkTo be fair my brother in law has a Suzuki and is always on at me to ditch the Honda, comfort being the difference
