Horsch or vaderstad drill

Gone from a 3 metre rapid to a 4 metre pronto here, haven't actually seen the horsch results yet so cant say to much , but wouldn't say the horsch brings up the stones it just trails them 
, vaddy was more likely just to go over them .
Every time I get out to the pronto something else is missing or broken (it is an older drill with a fair bit of work through it ) bearing bolts unscrewed from hubs, discs missing , the little press wheels at the back either fallen off or the bolt that holds them on has come loose and the whole arm gone , coulters breaking off etc , it's bloody time consuming and frustrating , I'd say the vaddy took more punishment and stood up to our stoney ground better
Horsch is far far easier pulled than the vaddy though and sits better on the sidelands. seems to be a lot more accurate regarding seed rates too
Thing is really dislike about the horsch is the control box, just can get on with it at all.
Gone from various one passes here to trailed about 8 years ago and wouldn't go back to a one pass in a hurry.

The problem with comparing makes and not models is the one pulling up stones will be a CO4/6 or a Sprinter which will hook up anything where as a Pronto is a disc drill which won’t bring stones up.
Sprinter should be compared to a Spirit and a Pronto should be compared to the Rapid.

Went from a Lemken combi to Horsch Pronto 3 meter (secondhand) Brilliant drill would never go back to a combi. (cant comment on a Vaddy)
You are right only have interest in a pronto or rapid disc drill

Went from pronto to spirit,would say spirit makes a better job,closer spacing and more cultivation than pronto but does take a lot more pulling,have 275hp on 4m and needs it all on some of our steeper fields,think I could pull a 6m pronto with the same tractor,pronto was very reliable,spirit has had a few problems but nothing serious.
We tried going the vaderstad route with a carrier in front of a rapid the stones were the problem.
Rolling took twice as long after it compared to the combi it either pulled more onto the top or having 2 passes it made it tighter and we couldn't roll them in and I'm not talking about the big stones we were having to pick stuff that we wouldn't normally need to touch.
Also no quicker in the long run as you either need 2 people on the job or by the time you cultivate it then drill it you could've done it with the combi anyway.

You’re saying a sprinter (tine drill with no cultivation element) should be compared to a spirit (disc drill with loads of cultivation elements)????????

I’m sure they made a Spirit which was mainly tines and looked identical to a Horsch CO/Sprinter, but can’t find pictures online of it.

Depends what land your on. We tried both a pronto and rapid, opted for the rapid in the end as the pronto was not as good on our heavier land
the rapid will drill into anything, even drilled cover crops straight into stubble whereas the pronto seemed to need more prepping in front.
My biggest gripe with the rapid is it needs to be level as there’s bugger all coulter movement and I’d imagine the pronto would deal with trash better but I think if we had another rapid I’d opt for the 3 rows of coulters

Sprinter is a glorified cultivator, Rapid is a heavy duty disc drill. Neither is low disturbance. Sprinter will DD with the right coulters, Rapid would be the best in cultivated ground.

A Sprinter with the original Duet coulters does a lot of cultivation to a reasonable depth.
If fitted with the now optional Dutch or aftermarket coulters it will pull a lot easier, but you won't have anywhere near as much subsurface cultivation.
