How long to sort insurance out

Try and be brief. Last year in july I had a car coming from the opposite direction unknowingly to myself hit the back 6 inches of my bale trailer on a fairly straight bit of road according to where they described where it had happened.
I didnt even know they had hit me till the caught be up in traffic.
Obviously my take on it was they were 100% at fault, must have served into me but it don't work like that.
I've refused blame but still it's ongoing. My premium was hiked up last yr because of an ongoing claim and next month I'll be looking for yr 2 or hiked premiums.
What's the best way of sorting this? I chased it again 3 weeks or more ago and still nothing.

Don't let the barstewards grind you down. I've had my fill of them the last few years, using every excuse, clause, grey area to wangle out of. Not really helpful I know just needed to vent 🤣

I know things take time.
What got my goat was when I moaned last all what was quoted was the other people's term of events. Hang on you're my insurance company...
I was hoping for some money back last yr soon as this gets either split blame or whatever we just sorted. Now going to be another weight hanging over me.

I had this yrs ago driving someone else's tractor with a big sheep box. Taxi over took as I turned right. Luckily had plenty of witnesses. Now have front and rear cameras in everything.

We’ve mostly stopped claiming on insurance for things like that. Depending on the car it’s often easier to give them some notes and draw a line under it. I’m sure the insurers have more back than they paid out the following year

Even if you’re sure it was the other person’s fault?

Goes against the grain somewhat!!

You can't win with Insurance Companies.

Had an "out of the blue" letter a couple of years ago stating my vehicle had been involves in an accident 20 miles away and that my son had accepted liability and given his name and address (all available on facebook where he advertises his business)

Offered to go to Court and swear under Oath that vehicle was at home at the time but Insurers said not worth it as I wouldn't be believed so they settled the claim.

Almost impossible in a case like that to prove you weren't there.

To make matters worse, when I insured another vehicle with a different Company they told me that I was listed as having had a recent blameworthy accident!

When after you have paid increased premiums for 3 years and the other person hasn't made a claim against you don't go thinking you will get any money back off the insurance company.

Trackers on both tractors.
Don't your phone track where u go? Might help where u were at the time?

I had one in the summer, he tried to squeeze past the trailer and scraped his car. I was told they’ve got 3 years to claim
Surely they made a claim by now. My light cluster acted as a tin opener on the whole length of their car.
I said they missed a tractor 8inch wider than tractor and the whole length of 28ft trailer but hit the back corner. Not like I was tuning sharp into a gateway or such like just straight or gentle bends.

Sadly the best way to sort this sort of thing out is by using one of the advertised solicitors that make money out of these issues.
We had a car run into the back of our week old pickup a few years back. They left all their details for us to claim off them.
Unfortunately the car was hired and our insurers at the time ( NFU) couldn`t trace the driver.
Neighbour gave me a number for a solicitor. Rang them, by the end of the following day we had a courtesy vehicle, 3 days later they had traced the driver. Within 2 weeks pickup was in for repair, new drawbar fitted and delivered back to me

They’ve tried, but haven’t heard anymore from them, he made some cock and ball story up that I hit him with the tail swing, stupidly I only got one photo because I couldn’t believe he’d have the front to claim. I told my insurer I’ll give them 7 days to send photos as evidence else I’ll forget it, haven’t heard anything for a few weeks now.
