The AHDB Recommended List (RL) is the first port of call for most growers, but the information it contains will not be up-to-date or relevant for some autumn 2021 variety choices, says independent UK wheat breeder, Bill Angus of Angus Wheat Consultants (AWC) and F1 Seed. “The decision about which variety to grow is the most important one in the farming year – get this wrong and you could be tied into some serious expenditure when it comes to combating disease,” he says.
