Looks suspiciously like Awned Canary Grass. If stem base pink and sap is pink from the base then it certainly is

The OP looks like Timothy to me. Canary grass is a relatively common weed over here now and it looks quite different as you say.

Meadow Foxtail looks v like Blackgrass and is closely related to BG but it is a different grass.

Black-grass is slender foxtail, meadow foxtail heads are plumper but not as much as the pic so timothy a better bet.
