Brilliant job and glad it went so well.
Many thanks for the update and the detail as I am sure others will do similar and enjoy your detailed step by step photos .

Waiting to see those high lift jacks up for sale or hire shortly 😂
Yup 12 jacks and a pile of straps waiting for the next shed lift! Might offer a shed jacking service... ‘jack of all trades’ or ‘jack the lad’...

Probably will be saved in reduced bedding costs and improved animal health costs due to better airflow quickly
Yes exactly that’s the plan and straight away we found cattle more content, less bullying at the barrier and can check them easier. Air flow is better than I expected, I’ve taken a few of the ridges off and that’s made a big difference. Ideally the sides wouldn’t be sheeted right down to the walls but unfortunately those sides get the worst of it

Stunning work.

Have you any readouts of your heartrate through the day?
The final foot of lifting was certainly nerve-racking. We didn’t actually lift to the full height of the jacks, I think 2 clicks short as they were starting to bend. So the guys went flat out re-cutting the sections, Whack em in and had 4 mig welders going. Had to hire a big events diesel generator short notice as our wiring couldn’t handle the power. Probably took 4-5 hours to make it secure enough over night then 2 of them came back next day to finish off.

Thought I’d update everyone regarding the reason i started this thread, might be of interest to some of you as I enjoy watching other people’s shed builds. We decided to give jacking up a shed a go...and it worked. I’ve taken photos along the whole process to share and the shed is pretty much finished now, just a few bits like electrics and sheets to put up.
What both sheds looked likeView attachment 937824(couldn’t find a pic from this side without me in it)🙄

So as you can see one shed very low and below level of yard so was prone to flooding in heavy rain.

We bought 12 4T ratchet jacks on eBay for each postView attachment 937827View attachment 937828
Then we had 4 welders/engineers/fabricators in to do the serious stuff. Chose a quiet, still day and Had to lift it up and weld up in one day, finished around 9pm. It was a lot of adjusting along the way. 6 of us, one on each jack on one side and did 2 clicks of the jack and threaded up the nuts on the threaded bar to help hold the weight. Then over to the other side and did the same until we got up to nearly 4 foot. (We did have a safety briefing before hand ‘If anything moves just f*****g run’) then slotted in the 4foot rsj’s and welded upView attachment 937829View attachment 937831View attachment 937832View attachment 937833View attachment 937835View attachment 937837View attachment 937839View attachment 937840View attachment 937841
after that was done it was internal work, raising up the blocked walls, closing up old doorways, then filling in the sheds floor with rubble and shale. Went with Teemore stuff as Bateman and iae were 6months minimum waiting time. View attachment 937843View attachment 937846
Very impressed.

Fair play, what stopped it falling over when it was jacked up? I suppose you could weld 4 lengths of angle around each stanchion after it was cut, for a guide then jack up and weld. Just for when you do it again like 😂
Lots of straps bracing it together and one of the engineers had made up a top link on steroids attached to a shed 5-6 meters across the yard so could adjust as she went up
