Deciding whether to get a new style John Deere 6120m with the dropped bonnet or a classic style 6130r. The main job will be hedge cutting/ verge mowing all year round with a bit of bale loading/carting in the summer months. Which would you go for?

Also is there an option for panoramic door/ no left pillar?

Heard something about this .
Be interesting to know which age models were causing trouble.
I don’t know. J D are aware there’s a fault with these gearboxes but won’t stand by them after warranty. I don’t know if it’s the groove that’s too shallow or the circlip but had heard soft circlip to blame. Everything falls off and it’s like a mincing machine

Sounds like a lot of Hedgecutting so I would go with the most luxurious comfortable tractor you can afford and definitely not the panoramic door on the RHS. You can put the cutter monitor in the small window (if u have McConnel evolution/revolution controls) and you have the strength of the Center post when u take a direct hit. I cut with a 155r, split door, no guards and it’s perfect. How big/heavy/length of reach is your cutter and is it telescopic Plus what’s the terrain like. Do you plan on using front weights and/or wheel weights? Those things need to be thought of. Are u limited to 600 tyres on the back on those models and will they be ok for land work?

Saw this one on Saturday, it's a 110 though.
Should be good visibility (y) might need a Kevlar suit and a helmet to stop the splinters from the hedgecutter.?

It’s a Bomford Falcon 5.5 vfr
Terrain can be pretty much anything
Using front weight plates but no wheel weights
And 540 rear 480 front
Thanks
