Lads. What's the verdict on them? Massey men but we are not paying the silly money Massey's are going for. This is the alternative we have come to a trade deal on
we traded a 390 for a 1090, it was quite the upgrade. imho, they're nicer tractors, with much better powershift etc of the similar vintage 5400 series fergies.

Had a 399, was looking hard a 6465, couldnt justify the price,5400s weren't much cheaper especially for there a smaller 4 cylinder, getting a good trade price of a man for a 530 teleporter who happened to have the case in the yard so we're going for it, Harrys not guna pay the mortgage lads?

We went 390, 390T, then Jx1100u, and then got a s/h 4370. Sold the 390 and got the other 3 still.

The JX is an absolute pocket rocket, we went for the 24/24 power shuttle which the one to go for IMO. It works way beyond its size.
Front end is light so make sure you get it with weights.
Prefer the controls of the 4370, mind. The mechanical linkage and spool levers are in a stupid place down by the seat. Not terrible, just not great if you're used to them being higher up.

The 115 jxu would be some ticket for power
It is,but 115/120hp is more than enough for the transmission to handle.i have a couple of the blue version. The 90hp one not had a spanner on it,120hp one on the other hand has cost a fortune on transmission and hydraulics,it has had a hard life tho.

Absolutely re the pocket ricket. Worked with a jx105u a lot. Powerharrow in front, potatoplanter in the back with biggest tyres you can fit. 18 tonne trailer filled to the brim with sugarbeets, all no problem.
The hoses at the oil cooler in the front did have a habit to pop off, emptying the backend in a minute witout you realizing.
Aircon would be nice but doable without if you are not workin in the dust all day.
Don't go for the newer farmall, they are not nearly as good.

Trouble from day one. 4 wheel drive get stuck on a few days in, nothing major had to nosey about found a short on the wire a few days later got that sorted fair enough. Following week the cable for the PTO speed change snaps, that one is still pending work. Then the hour clock goes dead. Dealer had to send click away to sort. Now this week the tractor was doing a few hours of topping, came out onto the road to switch feilds, an unmerciful Chang and rattle out off the so called bomb proof fait backend. Shes heading back to the dealer to get spilt. All in all I think shes made of salt, anytime she leaves the shed something happens, 😂

Sounds like a tractor that has maybe sat awhile or not been used much. As for the noise from backend are you sure it's defo from the backend and not the 4wd drop box? Have you checked the prop bearing? Our dog Clutches in Dropbox went on our 5060 which made the bearing go and it made strange noises

You could be right about both. The tractor did seem like a machine that was lying Ideal for some time, there's a lot of silly little things going wrong with it. Well that could well be it, we will soon find out.
