Liquid FERT from lumpy Nitram?

Contact someone local who has an existing melting plant, and either ask him to melt it for you, or offer it to him at 75-80% of the current Lithan price for him to add to his own brew.
Alternatively smash the lumps on concrete and spread it with your normal spreader. Unless it’s got wet it should break up ok.

You might find you need hot water......AN doesn’t melt as quickly as urea which will also take longer the colder the water.....most making their own are on cold water systems and urea

How much have you got to dissolve? It will eat steel so I’d get some IBCs and cut the tops out. As above, the dissolving requires a lot of heat so leave them outside and be patient.

Thanks for all the help. It has got wet as well as lumpy. I do have a concrete tank I could mix it with warm water from the dairy plate cooler. Should I put a pump in it to mix and how much water per tonne of AN?

What sort of tonnage are you talking about, and what are you looking to fertilise with it?
- I would imagine liquid AN might be a bit hot and scorchy. If it's a small amount it might be easier to mix it with some strawy FYM to up the C:N ration in the midden.

AN solution would be ok for a seedbed dose pre emergence. It would be very hot for foliar application.

Some of the guys in TFF who melt their own liquid fert will know how much water you need though as long as you weigh the AN in and meter in the water you should know the concentration. Just add enough to dissolve the solids and accept it will take a few days.

It’s about 6 tonnes. I could use it on a seedbed

If it's in bags try lifting the hoop with the tip of the forks and letting them fall 18" on to concrete a couple of times, usually smashes enough to let the loose stuff run through the grid in a spreader. Watch out for 'stretch marks' forming on the bags, and don't stand under them afterwards.
Apologies if I'm teaching you how to suck eggs.
