Tricky question, I know, but I’m asking on behalf of someone else.

Nice, tidy condition, not knocked about, S regd I think, dark green, hard top 90, chunky alloys, wide tyres, average mileage. Pretty standard spec…..

But the engine was boiled. It isn’t seized, turns over well enough but won’t start. Head gasket maybe blown is the owners opinion.

Any idea on a rough value? It’s certainly worth putting another engine in it and it will go on for years.

Which S late 70s or late 90s?

So a 300 series.
On a 75% knackered chassis. Probably 160,000+ miles. Look at the chassis over the rear axle. Not forgetting the inevitable rear X-member.
£5k
You could be a bastred and ask £9k
Engine usually fixable for less than £1k but that’s a real punt.
The engines do 200,000 and this sounds ok, but the g-boxes need love at 140,000 ish and a clutch.

Fit a Richards Chassis and you will have a nice motor for a long time.

Running 300tdi van of similar age in Cheffins vintage last weekend made 7000 ish. Didn’t look close but pretty sure it was MOT’d

Check the value of the registration plate may be worth more than the Land Rover

On that plate, it would be rare?

TD5 came out in 1999 and the S plate only ran for 2 months of that year (S being the first 6-month plate, and T came out on 1st March).

110 Td5 2005 130,000 miles, County, 3 door, clean condition, never off road, standard everything with 4 bench seats in rear. Probably a van originally with side windows fitted. Not for sale, but curious. Uses no oil and very very rarely driven over 60mph. Always passes MOT first time with no advisories.
