everything is what some one will pay, there are any number of plates out there on offer for totally unrealistic prices in the hope that Fazid Ali Ahmed will win the lottery one day.
I did see a plate go in open auction for 50K one day, cannot remember it but it was nothing special , but it obviously matched his initials or some such

While I have all you Defender savvy valuers at hand.....

110 Td5 2005 130,000 miles, County, 3 door, clean condition, never off road, standard everything with 4 bench seats in rear. Probably a van originally with side windows fitted. Not for sale, but curious. Uses no oil and very very rarely driven over 60mph. Always passes MOT first time with no advisories.

What's it worth? Thank you!:)

£7k-£8k most likely in 'average' condition.

that's very harsh I would add a £1,000 to that, sadly the 110's have never had the second hand value they deserve

Never understood why the 110s were less desired.. after running 90's my current is a 110 and I wouldn't go back to a 90 (well, I doubt I'll ever have another - but the 110 isn't going anywhere 😍)

110’s are by far the better traveller. If you need to go on a mini adventure ‘oliday your gear fits inside. Plus being longer it rides better. 60mph comfy cruise against the 90’s 55mph.
I was recently offered £9k for my 1993 110 county that has been in my ownership now for 30 years. I haven’t decided as the younger children loved their road-trip last year and I think they would miss it as it has been part of their life since they were babies!
It has done 6 miles so far this year🤣

So IMO a TD5 is somewhere below this figure as unfortunately they came out of the factory with chassis rust.
I do know looking at the gov mot site my old 110HCPU bought new in 2003 and waxed inside & out was showing advisories on chassis rot over the last two MOT’s

I sold the 90 for more space in the 110. Only grumble is the lousy turning circle.

I sold the 90 because the dealership offered me more for it than I bought it for, 14 years previous 🤣 and the 110 was immaculate and looked cheap (because it is a single cab pickup).

Turning circle isn't an issue I find

I miss the van/hard top for keeping things dry but the pickup is a lot more versatile

The second hand L rover market is heavily subsidised by the townies market. parking a Challenger is easier than parking a Defender 110 in Chelsea

Now ..
But that has nothing to do with the 110 being less desirable over the vehicles 33 production years.

It has nothing to do with farmers almost always buying 90's when the 110 was the better, more stable, towing vehicle

I have never had an issue towing with a 90 because the hitch is so close to the axle line. It's like a pick up hitch compared to a long drawbar. Maybe the thing to do is attack a 110 with the grinder and take a bit off the backend
