You are mistaken or off your tats, 100 per litre in a high rpm/lower torque density setting like automotive engine is possible but 50hp/litre is largely where even the most stressed modern tractor engines are.
I've not suggested to do it, enough air and fuel in most engines would get you there without need for crank, rods, pistons and head gaskets. Its not going to help longevity of course, but it would be possible. Biggest issue is cooling capacity for the engine. Judging that Case put extra louvres in the 5150 bonnet suggests under bonnet temps were pretty high when turbocharged. No reason the op can't get his 5130 straight up to 5150 levels or more if he wants to prove a point and is willing to hack some extra cooling into /under the bonnet.

That’s not a tractor engine then is it. You can take 800 HP from a Honda Civic FFS

You're missing the point that someone started going on that its not a turbo engine so don't do it. Folk have turbod 5130s since they came out of the factory They are massively understressed even at 150bhp. B6 Cummins in boats can be found whacking out 3-400hp. Its still a B6 Cummins.

There’s always a lot of talk on TFF about increasing HP & winding up fuel pumps

why don’t you silly carnts just buy a bigger tractor in the first place FFS ? 🤦‍♂️
Because they think they are clever and can save a couple of quid. Best example I can think of was when the 6000 series Deeres came out the clever people noticed the non turbo 6100 had the same block as the 6400 with 30hp more. So they bought the wee tractor turned up the pump and turboed it then complained bitterly that they overheated, blew head gaskets and were generally unreliable due to the fact the cooling system was smaller and unable to dump the extra heat. Possibly different pistons too.

It should be fine at 120hp but its a rotary pump so i think it needs to be doctored by changing the internal plates in the pump to get the best out of the turbo.
Iv had a 30 none turbo since new and its always gone like hell. Getting tired now and damaged (had a nasty accident on thurs) never felt the need for a turbo.
If shed been idling about i always found it way better after a day flogging its nuts off on the 5f plough or combi.

Those high hp boat engines have unlimited cooling, can't be stalled and have unlimited cooling. I'll wager there aren't many common parts between a 1400hp boat engine and the engine in a tractor.

Yes, if you read up thread I've already covered cooling being the limiting factor and that case put extra venting in for 5150 to reduce under bonnet temps.

Plenty of following for those Cummin engines online as they ended up in certain picture trucks as I understand it?

Unfortunately plenty of them also saw the inside of a workshop for the wrong reasons as well judging by some of the comments on youtube. 5.9 problematic, 8.3 somewhat better?

Always thought the 5.9 was the more reliable 🤔

6bt 5.9 must be one of the simplest most reliable engines to be built, most problems are created by yanks modifing them with poor quality parts
