Interesting. Have been toying with buying one for a long while for tin work as they go down to 25 amps, my 27 year old one is something like 40 amps and not good for bodywork. think a 4 meter length torch would be a must though for me. (y)
Not so sure how a 4 meter torch would perform with very thin wire when I drop ours down from 1.2 to 1 mm it’s not as good , just a thought

Have you 3 phase? I paid £400 for a 400 amp Kemppi secondhand Years ago, turns right down for thin stuff and deals ok with the excavator buckets. 30mm.. cheap torches no good for heavy work tho, just get hot and fool about. A Bernard h/d torch for £300 sorted that problem out..

No 3phase here unfortunately.
I've put my MIG welding on hold for now. The part for the exhaust I needed to fix was only £25 not worth patching it for that 🤦‍♂️
Thanks everyone for the advice though I am going to get one just not now.

has anyone on here used a jasic pulsed mig? looking for a pulsed mig and it seems ridiculously cheap compared with a pulsed migatronic or kempi

Got dragged to a garden centre and noticed Oxford Welding Supplies were next door, so went for a wander in.
My credit card was very tempted by one of these.
Then reality kicked in and decided my faithful old 180amp Cebora is fine.
Must of had it 20 years with no trouble.
'Hendredc' I'd find a half decent second hand welder around those amps, take your relation to try it and you will never look back.
Practise on decent clean metal and after a bit you'll be amazed what crap you can weld together, that your arc wouldn't entertain.

I have a cebora 450 amp for heavy stuff and run a cebora 185 amp for light stuff but just got a as new parweld 181 as the little cebora is getting tired i picked it up for £250 of facebook marketplace with a helmet and a large roll of stainless wire . Thinking of getting the old cebora 185 checked over then set it up for ali welding

Worth noting it you've not bought a transformer based welder yet your too late, for new anyway. You might find new old stock somewhere but because of leccy use apparently we've all moved over to inverter based.
I have inverter based mig and its bloody fantastic , we welded 50 hrs a week for 3 weeks and i was worries about my electric bill , i need not have it barley uses any electricity , unlike the old stick welder we used to use many years ago £££!!
