Muckfork

I was thinking of making my own muckfork for a JCB310. 8 feet wide with a 4 feet high back and probably 10 x 1100 MM tines.
I have 90 x 90 x 5mm mild steel box should that be ok or should it be something higher strength? Should the back be straight or angled in a bit?
Anybody made one?

You can buy a pucka 8 foot JCB Hardox muck grab complete with brackets for i.r.o. £2200.
Add in the difference in the eventual resale value and the effect 'capital allowances' will have on your tax bill, and it's hardly worth making your own.

I use 100x100x10 box use the heavy duty bushes and conus 2 tines the back plate needs about 75 deg and the brackets need tapering for the Q Fit but I guess you are on pin and cone to get enough roll back for tear out and retention if you mark the bottom beam out well enough you will cut the holes by hand with the torch plenty good enough, drill a small hole in the middle and cut to the edge marks this way steel does not get to hot and makes a better cut I can supply you SHW tines and bushes they are good quality at unbeatable price delivered to you, Put plenty of steel in it don't skimp on thickness it will not add cost up much at all and will make the world of difference

drill holes for sockets with a mag drill or get someone else to drill It or cut with plasma. You need to be good with a torch otherwise

Clamp a circle cutting attachment to the torch to work around a centre punch mark. Or for a quick job bend a 6” nail and clamp it to the torch.

I would seriously price up buying one, when I priced it all up, admitted 2 m quicke loader brackets there was less than £100 to make it buying everything trade.

If I was you I would advise hardox tines for a telehandler bees knees

Straight fork is about 1500ish for 7'6". Not heard all good about hardox, ok till they bend then a shed load of cutting out. I have a mag drill so can do 50mm holes ok for round or maybe cranked tines. My albutt grab goes through tines in about 12 months so I'm looking at cranked to get the tines flat to the ground. 10mm box sounds heavy, at least it won't break out. (y)

90x90x5 box unfortunately is barely adequate tor a 100hp tractor loader, a telehandler will rip the bushes out on the first day. I’ve done loads of end tine bushes on 4 foot shear grabs over the years where the bush rips out. Repair the box and plate them!!!

New nozzle and 10 mm box they cut fine with torch I doubt mag drill cutter won’t be available 58mm

Get magdrill cutter 58mm no problem. Cutwell would have them.

Still not worth making one though imo but each to there own.
Wont get cranked tines in a big enough conus to be any good either? Or they will be really short?‍♂️

Xform hardox is the way. Never heard of anyone bending them tines.
