Looks like a very promising project! I thought my machine-shed was big at 24*54m, but your building is truly massive. Where abouts in Denmark are you located?
Greetings from Sweden.

I live on Fyn, about 25 km from the bridge to Jylland.
And yes, it's bigger than my combined area under roof untill now.

I would really like a machine shed like that! But it's probably not anywhere in my immediate future...

So, how's it going Serup? Has the parlour building been built yet or have you been busy working in the fields (or other things).
All the best,
W

Yes, the first 20 meters of the parlour building went up thursday this week - the part where the parlour will be. It have to be ready for mounting parlour in 6 weeks, so they know what to do. They will start on roof and walls tomorrow. The rest of the building (it will be 78 meters long) will come later, it's not made yet.

I'm sorry i don't have any pictures of it yet - they will follow soon.

Here are a few more from parlour area and some from the cubicle shed.
About 100 cows will arrive sometime in august, and then we will have to put a lot of cows in the new shed, and milk them in the old parlour, untill the beginning of october, when the new parlour (hopefully) will be ready to save us a lot of hours.

Fabulous looking job ,great to see a bit of optimism about dairy farming.
I really hope this project is successful for you .I recently visited a new dairy set-up in Belgium milking with robots. Cost per cow was quoted at €6,500 per cow.
Production cost per litre 27 cent
Keep the pictures coming please.

@Serup Is it not worth putting solar panels up on the roof in Denmark - are the subsidies different?
What will happen to the people that you will no longer employ will they move to the towns?
I think the timing is right, 2008 would have been more difficult, doing it now seems the right time in the current market - is this how you see it?

Maybe, i didn't research it. I can't lend any more money anyway. But both buildings are placed east-west, so one side is straight south and with 20 degrees roof on. So it would be pretty ideal i guess.
I will employ the same staff going forward, and probably hire one or 2 more when i will get permission to fill the shed completely.
I believe the timing is right. It's reasonable priced to build right now, compared to a few years ago. And in the last few weeks i've read a few positive articles about optimism regarding the milk price. So i hope the price will go up along with me making more and more milk.
But time will tell.
