Of course Ford Rangers are perfect, how could we all forget that? Happy Christmas.
Hmm. I’ve yet to see a half perfect pickup but the new version Ranger comes close. If money was not an issue in terms of value for it, then the VW comes closer than most with the V6 engine and full time four wheel drive.

Hang on, i think I hear reindeer bells outside.... good night.

This turned up in our yard a couple of weeks ago, visiting one of our workshops.
The JLR man driving it said it was great, but he would say that.
I thought it looked like a Disco replacement
I hope they do well with it, my daughter is a senior buyer there image.jpeg

That is still a pre-production prototype. It even says so on the front. We can clearly see the recessed headlights here and a small arrow marked beneath, pointing at the body seam. This vehicle was registered earlier this month and is presumably as fresh as they come.

They have some great design features. One is that the intercooler is liquid coolant to air, rather than the air to air type. This means that it is not prone to damage or blocking with mud and shite out way in front or even just in front of the wheels as most rivals are. The Disco5 shares this feature of course.

I don’t think that’s too bad - most of the run out models cost more than that with all the old technology quite a few years ago - some are even still selling for more than that now

One passed me today on the M42/6 split this afternoon. Very underwhelmed in terms of looks. They had a n opportunity to make something a bit different Presumably an electric version will whisp along shortly?

I still can’t work out the briefcase size boxes hanging over the rear quarter windows.

It must be for people encountering Landrover ‘reliability’ and ‘cost of ownership’ for the first time, as it will give them somewhere to put their soiled underwear.
Those clever people at Landrover think of everything ?

That's the Andrex box for camping trips, folding shovel and two loo rolls. At over £700 it just covers the cost of the loo rolls.

Perhaps the box is to keep a set of jump leads in on camping trips:
Simon and Powerful UK are very good and do loads of good videos.
It is amazing how many amps a LR will use even if everything is turned off!

On the Disco 3, you knew the battery was on its way out if you couldn’t get much volume from the radio with the engine turned off. As soon as you put a new battery on, no end of other things work a lot better.
