Were you wearing the Redback Alpine's? As they have more support in the ankle "supposedly". I was going to try a pair, but they have just been replaced by the Cobar's

I have had a pair of these for 12 months fantastic boots were them every day ,much more ankle support than the normal ones which i had to stop using

On @Farmer Roy 's reccomendation, I bought some Oliver ATs 18 months or so ago. They are really very comfortable, by far the best boot i've ever had, and i used to wear lace redbacks. They've held up pretty well with being immersed in mud and slurry every day, with only a bit of cracking where the leather doesn't really get much of a chance to dry out.

Are the red back cobar boots water proof it would be handy not to have to lace up safety boots but have the Ankle surport of a laced up boot

Generally, water proofing isn’t really an issue for us. Far more important to allow the foot / boot to “breathe” . . .
They don’t advertise them as being waterproof & the zip would let water in anyway
You would have to look through their website to see if they offered a waterproof work boot . . .

Talking of boots; Hoggs used to do loads of boots like these Shepherd,s boots. I have an old catalogue somewhere.

I climbed snowden in my elastic sided steel toe red backs last year, they are more comfy than my walking boots!
I walked up Ben Nevis in a pair of Dr martens dealer boots 20 years ago, was fine going up, coming down near crippled me, my foot just kept slipping to the front and rubbed my toes .
Bloody agony.
I wear redbacks now, and love them but I'd not go hill.walking in them.

Hate too spoil the party but a lot cheaper View attachment 857169
As I said, they have some stuff, but not everything, what I just ordered on Farm Marketplace is not an option on there. Farm Marketplace isn't vying to be the cheapest place to buy absolutely everything agricultural related, some stuff may be cheaper, other stuff perhaps a bit more, prices change. As with all items purchased online, its often worth shopping around. Bit like Tesco is probably cheaper on some things than ASDA at any given momment, but other things it will be more expensive. Whats your issue with it Farm Marketplace nobody is forcing you to use it?
