NFU Mutual Reliable Insurer paying 99% of claims?

Hello all at TFF.
Anyone else having problems with claims with NFU Mutual?

Our denied claims :-
A SADR return (Subject Access Data Request) confirms that NFU Mutual (alleged reliable insurer paying 99% of claims) has colluded with known criminal fraud suspects* over the last two years to procure false information and forgeries of Court Orders to avoid paying our claims in excess of £280,000 in total, following three robberies and ransacking of our NFUM insured home & contents plunging us into severe financial difficulties.

We have written to NFUM CEO on three occasions (enclosed) for resolution.
No reply save that NFUM have blocked our e-mail's.
Have reported NFUM to the FCA.
* The criminal fraud suspects are one and the same as those involved in the Acorn farm loans scams (x 23), clearly using the same methods and same firm of alleged bailiffs (thugs) as in our case.

NFUM's solicitor avoided replying to our letter of March (enclosed) and has just been "let go" by his law firm DAC Beachcroft.
We have reason to believe he is an associate of the criminal suspects also involved in the Acorn scams.
As prosecution witnesses, we believe this is why we have become a target of this further criminal activity,

Anyone know of any lawyers who can help?

All the best
Fraudbuster & family in distress
Major Fraud and robbery x 3 victims
abandoned by NFUM on false "information" and forgeries procured from criminal suspects.

I can't help really but stopped using nfu for insurance because they wouldn't pay out on more than one occasion while I know they had paid for the same thing or less for other people. Seemed to be who you knew in the office.
Hi hendrebc,
Thanks for the info, seems like there are alot of 1%'s ???
Think it is more like if one is a member of a certain secret society with funny handshakes,
if not NFU come up with every excuse under the sun to not pay??
Cheers

Put in dozens of claims over the last 20 years.

Never had a problem, in fact I got stroppy on a few where they wanted the cheaper fix and they backed right down.

I do begrudge paying their invoices though but recent like for like quotes didn’t suggest they were way out

Hi Solo,
Thanks for the very interesting and unbelievable info. Do you know which Court re-instated Acorn Country Finance? The case number
indicates the Queens Bench?
kind regards

I touched a water trough pipe which went in to the mains water pipe and caused a leak. Water board came out and patched mains pipe and sent us a bill for £640. We took it to local office. When it went to head office in Glasgow they refused to pay. Dad went to NFU at Royal Show and explained, they said it should be paid. Glasgow refused. That was 25 years ago and the last time we dealt with NFU Insurance.

NFU have always paid my claims and have been very fair.

We are only getting one side of the story from you and only half a story at that.

In simple terms, you have had 3 robberies and squatters in your house ? The squatters been proper squatters or tenants that refused to budge? The 3 robberies must have happened in a very short space of time, as I doubt you would have carried on paying the NFU for insurance if they didn't pay claim one and two ?

Good luck with getting it resolved. It sounds like it's going to eat into your time.

Our local man also thought it should be paid. Their reason for not paying was that I should have got in touch with water board before digging so they could show me where mains was. I knew where mains was and explained it was a trough pipe 20 metres from mains which I tugged and it pulled out of mains pipe. You only find out how good an insurer is when you have a claim. It was our only claim for years and the NFU stood up to their abbreviation! The stupid thing was we would probably have stayed with them if they had paid up. We went to a broker the next year and saved double what the water board bill was!!!!!

My wife worked for a rival brokers for twenty years but she still maintained that the nfu were by far the best for paying out on claims. We got turned down twice by the same nfu assessor on mechanical failures but in both cases he could show and explain why the way the metal failed was due to fatigue or bad design and he was right anyway.

Only had one claim with nfu insurance, side of a 100’ shed blew out in a storm , chap was on phone monday , visited Wednesday and money for contractors ( who were here on a job anyway) in bank Friday
Can’t say we’ve had bad service from them.
We moved the tractors and motor insurance to another ( cheaper) company but main farm is still with mutual

Which? Insurance Brand of the Year for the 3rd year in a row. Must be doing something right for someone.

The one claim that got turned down was the headstock of a lely mower and he said where it was broken before he'd seen it because it was a common failure point and he was one of the ones that told lely where to change the weld position to stop it happening again. Sure enough, the replacement was his design,so couldn't really argue

The problem with NFU is that there are very few options out there for farmers, the market is stifled and we all know what that means, the company at the top dictates the prices! I urge any of you not happy with price or service to contact a broker, I see a lot of people saying they are happy to pay more if it means claims are easy, brokers all have claims people same as NFU. I contacted martin at gs group based in glasgow and turns out he is an ex NFU agent and group secretary. He saved us a fortune on the insurance and is always on hand for anything we need. He also has a claims lady that we can call directly if we need any advice on a claim, we always thought nfu were the best but had our eyes opened completely.

The NFU got a fraud investigation team onto me for a claim.

Was a bit nerve wracking and caused a few sleepless nights. But they eventually accepted and paid out the full amount.

With NFU insurance since on my own account and would say they have been excelent with me, yes I pay enough, but on checking other quotes, they are there or there abouts
Now the financial side is a diffrent beast, no comment on here

The assessor that was covering the area was determined to not pay out ,he was a git. Since he's gone there's no issues. In all fairness he was honest,if it was genuine there was no problem but he was an engineer by trade and he wouldn't let the wool get pulled over his eyes when it was just a design flaw or materials failing
