Agree with Sid. You won't change much in the dry period, it's how the cow is managed in late lactation that sets her up for calving and post calving. All you need to feed during the dry period is something to keep their guts full and ticking over- they are 'on holiday' and only need to keep themselves alive and maintain a pregnancy. Low quality but palatable enough that they will actually eat it. An all you can eat buffet of fresh grass or TMR in late lactation will not help matters.
