Pea Straw

Anyone use pea straw to feed to cows? Is it any better than wheat straw when fed in a diet? Thanks

i use it for sheep as substitute for hay......can have stones/dry earth in it .....would that be an issue in mixer wagon diet?

no that simply cannot be , as peas never go down do they .....

It's my pea halum spin has.

Dirt/stones from using a sledge on a small baler. No stubble for sledge to work properly . Also I normally have to rake 3 into 1 to get big enough swath (12ft cut combine)

They don't actually go down too bad here. Had an inch rain on them in 2hrs last week and they still upright

It should be ok, a small stone or 2 should not damage to much. It smells and looks ok so will give a load a go if for nothing else just something a bit different for them.
