Permanent muck heap

just say you will take it away for X amount / load rock up with a 12-14T spreader and take it away. They actually have to have it removed as its classed as commercial waste with being a livrey stables. Place a few villages away had EA put them through court.
no it’s for anyone. Some on here are a bit tetchy and few of us hate horses (me included!)

been a few harsh posts above, it’s hard to see how you can solve this, I would be tempted to ask them if they had a problem with you removing it, sounds like they don’t care either way.

then plant a few trees against boundary and move on
I’m not a big horse fan and as I’ve said - I do t want to get anyone into trouble - just want to minimise the horse poo mountain 😄

@Hotcrossbun if its on their land and the runoff is coming on to your land, what is separating your land from theirs ?
if its a hedge is there meant to be a ditch one side or the other that could be cleaned out to stop the runoff ?
come to that could you just dig a ditch your side to take the water/runoff away ?

I’m a smallholder on a small plot - have had pigs, have a few sheep, hens etc Is this forum only for people that farm on an industrial scale?
Ah I see. Right well you are in the wrong place then. You will not own a shiny big tractor so will have to resign you membership forthwith.
Of course I am joking but some of the members do become a little peeved when a new members first post could be perceived as a gripe.

Main issue are you then allowing run off to enter the water courses directly through in impeded flow.

the ones with the muck heap would have to do something about it then
or is it acceptable to use your neighbours land as a soakaway
Issue is it hasn’t appeared overnight by the sounds of it surely? Generally by the second year of it being there they have no intention of moving it as they’d pay the lesser amount to move it for one year rather than one huge bill I find, I always say spread the muck after your hays cut even if it isn’t rotted totally it will be gone by spring.

There’s a horsey yard not far away and their heap is massive dwarfing a few static caravans parked near by. Contractors are continually asked to quote the job but it’s always too dear, they expect it for free but sending a loader and two tractors in to shift it isnt. More so it’s the volume of straw and ragwort they pick out the fields dumped in it that cocks it up, was asked to quote this lass, but after spraying her ragwort crop and having a hard enough time to get her to pay I suggested I’d be too dear.

here’s the law;
