Im not sure he gets it.

There is a lot less numbers of that sort stock around and its ongoing, quietly, livestock markets are not what they were /dont have the throughput and will dwindle even more as well .
I do understand the point that was being made, despite the misgivings the end of the world isn’t nigh…..well not this week anyway!

And the real crime of it ?
We know what the issue is, because we have had decades of watching it develop, and we still close our eyes to it.

There's plenty of farmers in all sectors but for some reason, they don't show up in TFF Agricultural Matters. Perhaps the membership is made up of all types of farms, big and small but I don't think the posters are a particularly accurate reflection of UK Ag.

Especially the overseas member who isn't even a farmer. o_O:facepalm::sorry:
Agricultural Matters isn’t the only thread you know 😂 I’m quite good with the moderation button, but can’t get them all!

Twaddle, there's less farmers and farmworkers than there ever was and its reducing all the time .

Yes of course but there's still farmers in every sector.

Yes I know, the dairy section is my favourite, despite milk prices remaining fairly low, its one of the more positive sections.
Today at work is great too.

I do not grow spuds myself but the area I operate in is big potato country.
Its' been an excellent growing season for all crops, I read in the local report that last month an average of 135 semi-trucks per day left the valley loaded with potato's.........thats' last years crop of course.

I think there's talk of potatoes being a bit short this year to the north of you and up into Canada?

yes Loss of market share amongst other ( lessor ) things which are actually co related, ie 'wouldnt mind extra paperwork if it earned more profit.

Any idea on how much they’ve got this year? It’s the worst I’ve seen it here for 4-5 years.

3 weeks ago they were worried they would not get much ,then it's realy taken of In the last 10 days ,never seen it hit so quick
Some of the sprayed plots are worse than the unsprayed, but then are are a lot of sprayed lots with no blight at all

Thanks for your reply Derrick, there is certainly a very virulent strain here atm. Haven’t seen much at all for 4-5 years, this year it’s back with a vengeance.

People have stopped irrigating here for the past few weeks, I can only Surmise they must have blight too.
