Rabe raven 2300

WE bought a Kuhn on slats last time - had it not been for the money and the thought of Rabe going under, the Rabe was a serious contender. If you are looking second hand then I would be happy to consider it. Weve got a 5 furrow Eagle 120 here that Ive owned since around 1995 and its had no welding - its worn out a land wheel twice and a draft turnbuckle - great plough

I'm interested that you are replacing a Lemken, I would rather go the other way.
I cannot see that there is any worthwhile backup from Rabe now, you will get 'will fit' wearing metal OK, but I'm not sure I'd know how to source a skim leg or beam section etc.
Nothing wrong with the Raven 1500 I have, as such, but depth wheel bearings dont last long, and stones will stick between slats, do Lemken slats diverge slightly so they release better?

I'd like to stick with lemken but finding a decent 5 furrow is like finding rocking horse poo.

The rabe does look very well made it's done 11 seasons on a small farm is very tight everywhere.

Lemken slats do diverge but once they get worn they get a bit scalloped and occasionally stones do stick.

What do rabe slatted ploughs pull like I've always found lemken very easy to pull.

What has happened to rabe ???? Have they gone pop or have they been taken over????

Would had thought there were plenty of Dowdeswell DP7 about. Well built imo

There was a smart lemken with slats and integrated press I think in the current brown and co online auction.

I'd love one with the integrated press but I like the flexibility of ring or coil press for different land and crops plus 5 plus a integral press might be a bit ambitions for the maxxum.[emoji848]

We have a raven 5+1 on slats. Its quite good to be honest, well built and not stupidly heavy, but the whole depth wheel assembly, bearings etc are quite weak. I have probably only done 250=300 acres with it but it doesnt seem to cope with trash as well as the lemken europal we have. If both are in the yard i will hook on the lemken first

Had a raven for a few years. The only plough we have managed to break in half. Parts were always a pain to get and quite expensive. It ate seals on the turnover rams.
Did do a good job though

oi m8....i've just seen one like yours on local faceache....looks a bit rough[emoji23].....seller's given it all the 'genuine small arable farm' speel  but i reckon he might sell you a furrow to make yours 5(y).....no need to thank me BTW[emoji16][emoji16]
Tha's a rumun spin. I might contact him and see if I can buy his as a good spare.

Ps the seller only finished ploughing game covers saturday and he assured me he'd wash it and oil the boards in the next day or two.
