Has anyone experienced how accurate RTX Rangepoint is for repeatability year to year?
For example could tramlines be put back in the same position from one autumn to the next?
Thanks
Thanks for replies. I have seen the 50cm claim but thought in reality it might be consistently and hopefully a little better.

Are you describing the basic free egnos signal because this would be our experience for that system. We have used RTX before and would give its day to day performance a notch above egnos but took no notice of its year to year repeatability to put tramlines back in the same position. We do have the drilling tractor on RTK but would like the spray pass in front of the drill to run in the same position as the following drill would place the tramlines!it can drift in 15mins if you dont keep using it & sit still for too long, or drive away to yard for seed etc & return back to the field.
Just nudge it back its near enuff. Makes a good operator better at there job if you ask me.
I would guess RTX at 50cm or better year to year would suffice. We can unlock if needs be although its pricey!Where have you seen a product advertised by the manufacturer with pessimistic figures? The 50 cm figure was for year-to-year "drift". Inconvenient when used to RTK but still reasonable if you only need to fix that drift once per entering the field. The 15 cm pass-to-pass drift annoys me more. Way too much in my opinion for cereals.
Any receiver works fine if you nudge the error every time it appears. This in my opinion is almost as working manually but steering via the screen instead of the steering wheel (unless one accepts the 15 cm inaccuracy).
Nope Trimble RTX using GFX-750 & NAV900 had it 3years now. & £295 annual subAre you describing the basic free egnos signal because this would be our experience for that system. I never save any A/B Lines as i do diff things in diff fields diff ways every year
if your a half savvy operator RTX is all you need & its affordable.I would guess RTX at 50cm or better year to year would suffice. We can unlock if needs be although its pricey!

The die harders always want RTK but its at £700 a year sub afaik & another £4k on most tractors ontop.
but if you want 100% repeatable A/B lines that never move thats where job seems to be at
Yeah totally agree with all of that. well said.I can see the need for RTK for things like veg work but not for arable.
If you want it to put tramlines in the same place every year I’d put a fence post in the hedge line in the right place to back up to to shift to the right place then work from that?

All diff ways of viewing it.Remember RTK may also be a lot less expensive than Rangepoint RTX, for me it is. Run a few tractors from your private base with no annual costs.
Why do you see RTK needed for veg? People used to manage it without any auto-steer options. I don't think RTK or rangepoint are needed for any work, they all are useful though. The more accurate the system, the more useful it is. Also more expensive. Pretty impossible to say if it is too expensive for one task but not too expensive for some other.
i could live with the annual sub but not the extra outlay for never moving A/B lines when there easy to line up again.Remember RTK may also be a lot less expensive than Rangepoint RTX, for me it is. Run a few tractors from your private base with no annual costs.
