That 'de luxe' cab was the best there was about at the time. It was just a pity the back window didn't open for forage harvester spout controls etc. (yes all you young 'uns out there, we had to lean out the back and wind handles and the like)

Some of us old 'uns used to have to suffer leaning out of the back of the cab of a Leyland 285 with the added bonus of the exhaust pipe running up the back of the cab

The rear window idea was a poor effort in my opinion for a deluxe cab...

Was it just the bottom section that opened ?
Did that just give you access to the linkage ?
Not that I’m a youngster, but grew up on the MF165’s with the rolled up plastic window.

Yes the bottom bit hinged up, or you could take it off, you could trip a ransomes reversible plough with it open. The "shelf" had a a opening to wind the leveling box.

Could you remove the whole rear window ?
Just for instance you were on a forage harvester like @yellowbelly mentioned.

You can, but its a 4 nut and bolt job, and then it left you with less rear weather protection than the standard cabs rolled up curtain.

Yes but Fendt,Mf, Nash,Duncan,sekura,Leyland,jd managed it on their non deluxe models

Yaaay... little job for you today then!.. Perfection is everything!

The first one I drove was "L" reg and had double foot steps covered with checker plate, I think it may have been one of the first sold to have this extra fitted? The doors also had thick soundproofing on them which was also cheapened down to a stick on board later on.

PUH was an option on everything then, I never used one with one fitted.

I'm almost certain they're the same as UK spec
But there could of been different options available at the time
This one seems on par with a UK tractor
