PUH, tyre sizes, and "spools" were about the only options that I remember, later ones could have dual power and load monitor could be deleted
I notice ours has a different engine wiring loom over the UK tractors it's wrapped in black cloth over the blue pvc it still has all it's ford part numbers on the various looms

Dual speed pto was an option as well? Our has that option
This is 1 da spool
I think you could twin da spools

Unsure of the exact spec available you'll certainly know more on that than me

Sadly, I don't have a 7000 leaflet:(, but we had a 5000 of a similar vintage (I know the 7000 was a bit of a 'one off' progression to the range, before the change to 600 series, so this maybe apropos to nothing) but it's interesting to see the options and accessories available....

PTO pully and Selecto-Speed still available:whistle:. Load Monitor too, but no Dual Power.

We had the optional indicators which came with a 7 pin plug but we had no trailers with anything to plug into it:LOL:

Yes most trailers were still the 2-3 pin plug idea :LOL:

I bet at the time ... the 7pin plug idea will never catch on...:D

A lot of those options were std on a 7000, what year is that brochure showing selector speed? 1971 at a guess.

The 5000 pulling the forager seems to have the older metal top grille and metal FORD letters, before they went plastic in 1973....
I have the same sales leaflet so I'm guessing the photos are from the launch of the safety cab in summer 1970 (J reg)

That 7000 takes me back to my youth. In 1973 I was driving a 188 which was a heap of s**t. It had to go back to the dealer at 200 hrs because it was going through 2 pints of oil per day and they had to deglaze the bores. Three times in less than a year it lost hydraulics/pto/multipower. And the noise in the cab was horrendous.
The final straw in July ‘73 was when the guvnor sent me to finish off silaging with the NH 33 double chop and there wasn’t enough oomph to blow the grass up the spout! The old man jumped into his Range Rover and shot off, and when he came back he said, “I’ve been down to TH Whites and ordered a 7000.” Fantastic!
I had to wait until February 1974 because of the 3 day week (remember that?). But when in finally arrived it came with Dual Power and spool valve, which made the old man grumble because he hadn’t ordered those options!
What a superb tractor - I loved it, probably the best tractor I’ve ever had (for it’s day).

My 7000 was the first DP equipped tractor to be delivered to TH White's Devizes branch. What a difference it made - eg harrowing in on our light chalk downland with big set of Parmiter mounted harrows was 6th gear at best with our old 5000, but the 7000 would easily handle them in 7th low.

On reflection I think she came with 2 spool valves. And the old man grumbled because of the extra cost - but he was a farmer. But he saved money by not ordering front weights, which I had to go and buy later because she was too light on the front when ploughing - such was the grip on some of our heavier land that the front would start to rise!

Like the old joke - Why are Yorkshire farmers bald: "'Ow much???" Takes off cap and rubs hand over forehead. "F*****g 'ell."

Local contractor bought a 7000 didn't see a full year out before it was traded for MF 185.

Said to be short of power, and struggled to keep the drawbaw carriage tight.
7000 was not short of power but was very very short of torque reserve and engine operating range.
Drawbars were dealer-fit on Fords at that time, believe it or not. MF had a factory fit drawbar but if an auto hitch was specified, it did not require the drawbar frame to be removed, so could be factory fitted. The auto hitch on MF was just a kit of bolt on extras rather than the whole unit as with Ford.
Similarly the power steering could, if necessary, be fitted by the dealer to a MF but Ford used a ZF unit built in to the steering box itself, which supported the dash and fuel tank.
